5 Tips for Dealing With The Loneliness of Entrepreneurship
The decision to become an entrepreneur is a big one. You are opening yourself up to taking major risks, facing your fears head-on and stepping outside of your comfort zone, an exhilarating but scary undertaking.

Many times you'll find yourself second guessing your decisions or worrying you're making a big mistake, and you can't really talk about it all the time because after a while it becomes overbearing. In addition, you are likely very busy building your empire.
Outside of your home and your business, you may occasionally find that it can be really tough to keep up with friendships and relationships because, well, you just don't have the time and not everyone will be interested in or will understand your entrepreneurial journey.
As an entrepreneur myself, I have experienced all of these things and below are a few tips thats have helped and continue to help me manage the loneliness of entrepreneurship.
1. Remind yourself to reach out to your friends
A phone call, a girl's night out or a quick dinner...set reminders on your calendar once a week to take a moment to reach out to and catch up with friends. Make it a point to not talk about your business or work, instead focus on having a fun conversation or a great time and put work on pause for a few hours so you can have some fun and connect with your friends.
2. Create a great work environment for yourself
Make your work space fun, inviting and comfortable. The place where you spend all this time building your empire should make you feel happy to be there and should be a positive space. Fill it up with quotes or imagery that inspires and motivates you.
3. Get out and get active
Your health is everything and it's important you stay fit and active. Not only will you be keeping stress and sickness at bay, you'll also be releasing positive hormones into your brain whenever you workout, which in turn will boost your mood and make you feel happy.
4. Surround yourself with people on a similar journey
Get a mentor and check-in frequently. Surround yourself with other entrepreneurs on the same path as you. Exchange notes, collaborate, stay in touch, keep each other accountable. A lot of great friendships are formed from business relationships and having mentors and people on a similar path as you will help you get through the rough patches.
5. Do something fun often
Find a hobby, something completely unrelated to your business and plan to do it often. It could be sports, visiting museums, photography, travel.....take the time out to pursue it and involve your friends or family as well.
Being an entrepreneur is hard work and can be very lonely at time but if you put in the effort to stay connected to the other things that matter in your life you will be just fine!
